the darksiders swing band

A swing band from Valencia made up of passionate musicians with strong roots in the Lindy Hop scene and a deep respect for the origins of this music. Their repertoire is a journey back in time celebrating the golden age of jazz, featuring music by Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Illinois Jacquet, Johnny Hodges and many more.

With up to five horns delivering a powerful and vibrant sound, and a rhythm section that keeps the groove tight and irresistible, they bring the spirit of the swing era vividly to life, both on stage and on the dance floor.

A Swing and Blues DJ for over twelve years, ever since discovering swing — “the jazz you dance to” — and blues — “the music of the soul”. He has played at Exchange festivals in Girona, Barcelona and Seville, as well as at the Balboa Barcelona Festival, the Paris Blues Exchange, Blues Alliance in Toulouse, and at all five editions of the Low and Slow blues festival.

A collective of musicians from Gasteiz who have prepared a wonderful repertoire from the jazz and swing era to delight audiences at La Florida Park on Saturday 4 July. This special concert is organised in collaboration with the Vitoria-Gasteiz Jazz Festival and serves as a prelude to that major event, which arrives in the city two weeks after our own festival. Get ready for an unforgettable performance from this outstanding ensemble of 18 musicians.
